Fall (4 Months) | NYC | Paid
Artsy’s mission is to make all the world’s art accessible to anyone with an Internet connection. We are a resource for art collecting and education.
Artsy features the world’s leading galleries, museum collections, foundations, artist estates, art fairs, and benefit auctions, all in one place. Our growing database of 350,000 images of art, architecture, and design by 50,000 artists spans historical, modern, and contemporary works, and includes the largest online database of contemporary art. Artsy is used by art lovers, museum-goers, patrons, collectors, students, and educators to discover, learn about, and collect art.
At Artsy there are no specific work hours or policies, no pointless bureaucracy. We only care that you achieve inspiring results and are a joy to work with. This means you must be highly energetic, enthusiastic, and resourceful—no problem is too big or too small for you to tackle. You will enjoy both responsibility and autonomy in your work.
The Communications team supports Artsy’s mission by executing high-quality press strategies, events, speaking engagements, and partnerships that position Artsy as the leading resource for both learning about and collecting art. Some of our projects in the past year included collaborating with Nautilus, a SIXTY Hotel, for Artsy’s week-long series of installations and events in Miami, which garnered press coverage in Vogue, Architectural Digest, Wallpaper*, and Interview Magazine, among others.
As Communications Intern, you will provide foundational support in fueling all press and event strategies. You will be the point person for conducting research for media lists and press pitches, compiling and formatting materials for press use, monitoring Artsy mentions and other relevant news across media outlets, and analytics and performance tracking. You will also be a key player in assisting with event coordination including maintaining guests lists, sending personalized invitations and tracking responses, and taking ownership of on-the-ground event logistics such as liaising directly with Artsy guests and event partners.
The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, is a thoughtful writer and strategic thinker, and expresses knowledge of the contemporary art world. Prior job and/or internship experience in PR, communications, marketing, events (agency or in-house), or editorial (print or digital media) is an added plus.
