UCRI is seeking a summer intern with an interest in the UC research enterprise who has particular interests in grant-making, research and funding portfolio evaluation, communications (especially related to dissemination of academic or scientific information to the public), or other areas of research support. Specific projects may include gathering and analyzing data from individual grants into program-wide syntheses and impact assessments; the development of a program brochure that communicates outcomes metrics in a compelling manner to decision-makers and the public; contributions to the planning and execution of peer review grant evaluations; and other time-limited projects. Specific assignments may depend on the incumbent's experience, and this position may be filled at an Intern 3 or Intern 4 level with commensurate responsibilities assigned. Topical and disciplinary expertise is open.
Note: This supervised internship is a 12-week, full-time work experience during the summer, a total of 480 hours based on a standard 40-hour work week. Targeted start date for internship is June 1, 2016.
